The project focused on revitalizing the production hall and warehouse lighting of Kovobel a.s. for improved illumination and lower energy consumption. The lighting audit suggested the existing luminaries were insufficient for working areas with limited access to daylight.
Kovobel a.s. is the only company in Senica which is focused on the processing of metallurgical materials for thin-walled pipes and profiles. In addition to its own production activities, Kovobel offers logistics services as well as the preparation of project documentation. To cover their supply chain requirements, Kovobel storage capacity has an area of 4,500 m².
The DDK-LED lighting proposal replaced insufficient 80 lx for 200 lx on working area which lowered energy consumption from 31,5 kWh to an optimized 5,1 kWh.
The original 400W metalhalogenid lamps in total of 59 luminaires were fully replaced with 120W and 160W DDK-LED HBE system. The energy costs after the installation of LED luminaires dropped by 84%. The expected return on investment of the project is 3 years.
