This project involved the complete redesign of the 16,000 m² hall for Karimpol Group. The main goal was to provide an improved and more modern illumination for the interior of the warehouse as well as lower energy consumption. The lighting audit suggested the existing luminaries were insufficient for working areas with limited access to daylight.
Karimpol Group has developed industrial, office, and commercial projects totaling 250,000 m² in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Austria.
According to the norm STN EN 12464-1, the lighting proposal replaced insufficient 100 lx with 300 lx inside the warehouse and in the manufacturing area. The reason was the need for better visibility, frequent unloading and distribution of incoming goods.
The original 450W metalhalogenid lamps in total of 474 luminaires were fully replaced with 120W and 150W DDK-LED HBM system. The energy costs after the installation of LED luminaires dropped by 71%. The expected return on investment of the project is 3 years.
